How easy is that?!
A lot of families do a gift exchange every year. Many draw names or families. Others rotate through family members so everyone gets everyone eventually. Some have other systems. There is usually a dollar amount limit or guideline. It can be hard to find a gift that is actually needed or wanted and still be a surprise, and stay in the set price range.
This year I decided to get the same thing for my parents, my in-laws, and siblings we drew this year - a fake security camera. Who doesn’t want to feel safer? Most people wouldn’t think to ask for one. At the same time everyone I know think they are a great idea. Come to think of It, I think some of my friends and neighbors will be getting the same thing! How easy is that?!
Keep Them Guessing
I recently installed a fake security camera on my front porch, close to the front door of my house. My intentions were directed to a potential thief to deter a break in or other criminal activity. The results were very interesting. I have teenagers, and many friends coming and going, some late at night. I don’t mind because I know the kids and like them and trust them. I did get a kick out of the looks and comments of concern from some of these kids when they discovered the camera.
“Is that thing really recording?”
“Is it on all of the time?”
I like the added piece of mind knowing that more than just the criminals will be on their toes believing that they are being recorded. That was an added benefit to the already affordable fake security camera.

FAKE SECURITY CAMERAS
Fake security cameras and dome cameras that are actually empty are an excellent way to keep criminals guessing without having to shell out a lot of money for a real security system.
Purchase your Fake (or Dummy) Security Cameras and place them anywhere to make people think that they are being watched. You should also consider placing a few Dome Cameras in high profile areas where you want to prevent problems.
Deadbolts and Fake Security Cameras
Deadbolts act to deter, prevent and delay a break-in. Thieves may be deterred from attempting to open a door locked with a deadbolt and may leave. Fake security cameras can have the same effect. When a theif sees a security camera they are likely to go in search of a more private crime. They don’t want to take the chance of being recorded. Video evidence is undesireable to crooks. You don’t need to wait untill you can afford some big expensive home security system. There are affordable options you can do all an your own. Start with a good deadbolt and a few fake security cameras. Then mabey a real wireless security camera and a door stop alarm. You can even get yard and window signs to give the appearance of a security system. Act today for the safety of you and your loved ones.
It may seem a senseless and a little ridiculous to install fake security cameras in your store or home, but in reality, they are an effective theft prevention method. It’s been shown that the simple presence of security cameras is a deterrent to theft. Many museums and stores employ this method, which is often referred to as “containment security.”
So if you can’t afford a whole fleet of security cameras, or the manpower to operate and review them, consider a fake security camera system. Even if you already have a set of working cameras, you can add fake ones to beef up your numbers and further discourage sticky-fingered shoppers.
SECURITY ON A BUDGET
A fake security camera is an affordable crime stopping tool. While it may not deter all criminals, certainly those who have no particular plan will be stopped short by the idea of their actions being videotaped. The fear of being caught on video will stop the majority of petty thieves and may prevent some work place crime as well. Having fake security equipment can be a good way to stop most people from committing a crime, though you will still be in danger of attracting those that couldn’t care less!
Three Simple Security Steps
Lock it: Making sure that your doors and windows are securely locked and latched, even when you’re home, is a good idea. While a locked door may not prevent a burglary, it definitely makes the entry part harder on the crooks.
Fake Them Out: A fake security camera is an affordable way to send robbers on their way. Being recorded is not something many crooks will take a chance on.
Keep It Neat: Maintain your home and yard. Trimming bushes and shrubs that are planted beside the home can remove cover, giving the criminals nowhere to hide.
Neighborhood Watch
Vacation? Tell neighbors or friends who live close that you are going out of town. Ask them to keep an eye on your home and alert the police to any suspicious activity. Also, ask someone you trust to collect your mail and any packages that may arrive so they don’t pile up. You don’t want to alert potential thieves that you are away.
Install a fake security camera at each entry. With your neighbors watching and the appearance of you watching via video, you can change the odds in your favor.
Deterrence And Evidence
Many people choose to have some real security cameras and some fake. This is a cost effective way to have plenty of deterrence and also have evidence if needed.
To make your fake security cameras look even more realistic, make sure they are set up the same way your real cameras are. For example, if your real security equipment is wireless, make sure your fake cameras are, too, and vice versa. It could be fairly obvious that you aren’t using all real equipment when some of your cameras have wires and other don’t. To fake a wired in camera, just use a hot glue gun to attach a cable to the back of your camera and have it run into the ceiling panels or wherever your supposed security center is. Now you have to benefits of real and fake security cameras.

A Great Way To Start
You can find fake security cameras anywhere you buy real security equipment. The cameras are very realistic and can fool any thief. If you are short on cash, the easiest way to go is with simple shielded or mirrored dome cameras… minus the cameras. Anyone with criminal tendencies will figure that there are hidden security cameras within the ceiling domes. A fake security camera is a great way to start in your personal security plan.
